Windows 10: How long should the update be taking? Stuck on 27%...

Restarted PC for the update, it’s stuck on 27% right now with the circle still spinning. Been stuck here for a good while... did it take this long for other people? I saw someone earlier saying it was stuck on 0% for them

EDIT: after about an hour it finally restarted itself and continued the update. For anyone stuck, just gonna have to wait it out it seems. Now it’s not moving from 30% lol

Hi Sue,

To understand the issue better, I would like to ask some questions:

• Is the computer stuck in the Installing updates screen?
• For how long is the computer stuck in the screen?
• When was the computer last updated?
• Is the screen showing any percentage of installation?

Sometimes the installation might take a long time to install if the update is of large size. So, I suggest you to wait for sometime and check if the system boots to the desktop. If it is taking a longer time, then perform a Power Drain by following the steps
provided below:

• Shut down the Computer.
• Remove all power source (including battery if it is a laptop).
• Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
• Connect the power source and start the computer.
• After the computer boots to the desktop, suggest you to install all the pending updates.

Windows 10 revert to 7 is stuck on This won't take long

Trying to revert to Windows 7. It's stuck on Getting things ready: This won't take long.

It doesn't matter how long it sits, just stuck.

I cleaned system with wisecracking, as suggested on this forum.

I stopped the antivirus, disabled all firewalls.

I read every thread here and nothing works.

I need help. My laptop is basically unusable at this point.

Well that's why I asked. Mine is on SSD and takes 11 seconds. Your list of games will not appear if it has not checkd for updated suggested settings for awhile until it checks.

When it says it is refreshing the game list, it is checking, because NVIDIA periodically updates suggested settings. Plus it will look for those for new games you have installed.

So, the less it is run, the slower it will be.
