Windows 10: How make a WiFi connection from Windows10pro to Printer Brother Pocket-jet PJ-673

OS: Windows 10 pro v 22H2PC: Laptop Lenovo T470SPrinter: Brother Pocket-jet PJ-673 The printer connects via USB to Win 10 without any problemsBUT, On connecting the printer using Wifi to Win 10 , I get the following message: “This Wi-Fi network uses an older security standard, that might not protect you”And on hitting ‘ Connect”, I get “Can’t connect to this network” . On-line all I can find is solutions for Wifi Routers nothing about Wifi printers, The solutions suggest to downgrade the security of the ‘ router’ , Which I clearly cannot do.There are NO settings avai

Yes, I tried all your suggestions last week as admin.

Whether the wifi program is installed or not, it did not make one iota of difference to the way Win 10 reacts to the wifi radio.

The laptop is a Lenovo T410 (WIN10 pro )and the printer is a Brother pocket jet PJ-673

There are 2 drivers installed for the printer: brother PJ-673 USB and brother PJ-673 (wifi )

I presume that win10 is expecting an Internet connection or similar and not a printer network??

Win 10 flat out refuses to connect to my WiFi printer-->
Normally Win 10 asks for a password in order to connect to a new network, even
after the network has been set to 'forget', it again asks for a pass.
My Brother pocket jet PJ-673 printer, connects via USB cable without any problems, BUT on
connecting to Wifi, Win10 flat out refuses to connect, it never asks for password/identification code either.
In the "view all available networks box" the printer network lists, BUT Win 10 just states "Can't connect to this network". no explanation, nothing
I installed and reinstalled the correct win10 driver, which installes OK and the printer list in "Devices and printers" and is set as default..
(The same printer, on Wifi connection, is working fine on Win 7.)

Is there a check box or what ever, in Win10 to allow the connection to be made??

Windows 10 - 64 Pro is not recognizing the Wifi printer, a brother Pocket jet PJ - 673

The laptop shows connected to Wifi printer, yet 'network and sharing' calls it 'Unidentified network' . and shows a yellow triangle

Ipconfig shows 169.254.100.1

Pinging works fine.

Normal internet over Wifi is OK

I tried the same on a Windows 7 64 laptop, Wifi gives the same results eg No printing access

Both laptops are Lenovo T410

Yet with a USB connection printing works OK on either.

Can anyone please help?
