    How many hours on 1 battery charge


    I have an Dell Inspiron laptop and after each charge, the battery indicator may show anywhere fron 1 1/2 hours to over 3 hours. This session, I've been on for about 40 mintes and the battery indicator is showing that I have 3 hours and 17 minutes left (the most ever). I've had the computer since January, so it's less than 3 years old. How much time sould I expect to get on a single charge?

    Charge it until the battery meter stops moving. This should take around 1 to 2 hours.

    Modern batteries don't need to be left overnight or for many hours.

    It totally depends upon what you're doing, how much graphics, how much sound, how much HD thrashing, and other factors. Because your was my question some time ago, I've been using the free version of BatteryBar -- it pretty accurately, approximately, tells me how much battery life I have left.

    It's still showing 2 hours, 26 minutes, but I doubt if that's accurate.
