Windows 10: How NOT to automatically clear Clipboard Data at Reboot for Performance? Use Cases: 1 Copy...

I need reboot as my last resort for issues that have no clear answer from Tech Support. such as the following:Resources not fully released with App closurereset requires admin rightreinstall requires admin rightHowever, since Reboot takes time, I prefer to avoid reboot often; I rather reboot when I run into performance issues; unfortunately, but I cannot predict when.Problem is too often, I copy and paste.As-is, reboot clears Clipboard which I still need.To retain Clipboard content, I have to paste every Clipboard item into an App like Word save Wordrebootre-open WordMy other use of Clipboard

Does hibernate save windows clipboard copy file ?

The clipboard is NOT a file. It holds its data in memory.

The clipboard data does survive a hibernation.

You could easily answer the question yourself like so:

1. Press PrtSc
2. Hibernate
3. Return from hibernation
4. Open Word
5. Press Ctrl+V to paste the clipboard's contents.

 

Clear Clipboard

In the current versions (CC) of Illustrator, there is no way to clear the clipboard - the old versions used to have Edit - Purge, but that was removed . . .

Illustrator will automatically clear the clipboard when is closes

You can minimize the size of the clipboard by adjusting the settings in Edit - Preferences - File Handling and Clipboard

That's about all the control Adobe provids at the moment . . .

1. In some cases the website may prohibit copy/past to protect their materials.

Use Ctrl + C to copy and Ctrl + V to paste if the website does allow.

2. Clear Clipboard History

Settings > System > Clipboard

Press Clear Clipboard Data

Retry copy/paste
