Windows 10: How stop Windows showing title, artist, etc on media files?

Every time I open a folder that contains mostly media files, Windows decides I want to be told the title, artist, etc. of each one. But I do not. These are short WAV sentences to be analyzed linguistically. What I want to know about them is general information like Date Modified, Size, Folder Path, etc.


For each folder and I have hundreds I can go to Properties that tell it I just want General Info, but I have to do this again and again for every stinking one.


How can I tell Windows to just assume that I always want general information regardless of how many media files a folder contains?

Windows Media Player 12 not showing correct titles in Windows 10

Windows media player stopped displaying titles of albums that contain the description of various as the artists. When I click on albums any album that has various as the artist are displayed as Various for the title of the album. If you click on the album
icon then it displays the title and album info correctly. This just started happening I upgraded to windows 10 earlier in the year and the problem was not there. I have followed steps in deleting the files in Media player and also the extra step of deleting
Media Player. When the data base is rebuilt I still have the same problem. Is there another fix. This has nothing to do with the on line data base. I record from internet stations so I list the artists as various. Any album with various as artist has now in
the search view for albums appear as various as the album title. I created the title of the album. It changed within the last two weeks. I contacted Microsoft support spent over four hours and they did not have a solution as to why this suddenly changed.

 

Song Titles, Artist, Album names in burned Playlist

I have an extensive music collection, but most listening is to playlists. I have tried to follow all hints, suggestions, and directions found (even purchased Uniconverter). Unfortunately, I have never been able to produce a Cd which will play on a car audio system and display song names, artist, etc. on the player screen. Can someone please outline a step by step procedure for either beginning with an existing playlist, or creating one, then continuing through all of the steps necessary to produce a playable Cd with track and artist info displayed.

Windows Media Player Song Title Alpha Order Bug possible workaround

I use Windows Media Player to maintain my library of music on the computer. Usually, when I open an Artist, all of the songs are listed within the album from which it comes. So first is Album A with all of its songs, then Album B etc.

Often, I'll want to list all of those same songs within an Artist by Song title. This will sort all of the titles that start with "A" first, "B" second, etc. and show a very small jpeg of the album cover on the left. This view allows for quick audio comparisons of the same song from different sources. This is where you can hear one iteration of a song being louder or better quality or worse mastering than another - a helpful use of this software.

OK, so what's the bug? Occasionally and unpredictably, the alpha-by-song list will separate out widely, listing the first song with a large jpeg of the cover art. Then a second song will appear with its large jpeg cover art, all of this using up a lot of screen real estate. It can still be used, but it's ugly to look at. It has been maddening that some artists are separated out like this, while most list nice and tight, line by line.

Today, I might have uncovered the reason that it happens. I think it has to do with apostrophes in the last title in the alphabetical list. If you can somehow change the title of that song so that it's not last, your list will show tight lines, the way its supposed to be.

I realize that this is a very specialized use of Windows Media Player, but maybe it will help out someone out there.
