Windows 10: how to access gcc on windows in wsl

Discus and support how to access gcc on windows in wsl in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I installed gcc, gdb, g++ through msys2 on windows and recently I installed wsl with openSUSE. please tell me how to access msys gcc on opensuse or do...     how to access gcc on windows in wsl


    I installed gcc, gdb, g++ through msys2 on windows and recently I installed wsl with openSUSE. please tell me how to access msys gcc on opensuse or do i have install a separate gcc on openSUSE wsl. Is it ok to do so or will cause any problem or will cause the system to crash or any other problem.

    Since 2022H2: File Explorer slow when Quick Access contains WSL folders.

    After upgrading Windows 11 to 2022H2, the file explorer is slow showing it initial list of Quick Access folders in right panel.



    It seems WSL locations in Quick access is causing the latency.



    Before upgrade:

    - Initial list of folders in right pane was fast. Quick access contains folders of WSL.

    - Accessing WSL folder from Quick Access was slow (very slow).

    - When WSL terminal is open, accessing WSL folder in File explorer was fast.



    After 2022H2 upgrade:

    - Initial list of folders in right pane is slow. Quick access contains folders of WSL.

    - Accessing WSL folder from Quick Access is fast.

    - When removing folders that point to WSL folders from Quick access, initial startup is swift.

    - When adding folders pointing to WSL, file explorer is slow.

    - When WSL terminal is open, initial startup of File Explorer is fast.



    It seems like in previous version of Windows 11, WSL was lazily started when WSL folders were accessed, while after upgrading to 2022H2, WSL is initialized at startup of Explorer when WSL files are in Quick Access.



    I think I prefer WSL to be started lazily since I do not always access WSL based folders.

    Hello,

    I'm reaching out to the community for assistance with a persistent WSL issue. Upon attempting to launch WSL, I'm encountering the following error:

    WslLaunchInteractive failed with error: 0x800711e6 - System Integrity policy has been violated. Explicit denied file.

    Steps Taken:

    1. I have reset the Ubuntu Linux distribution.
    2. I have uninstalled and reinstalled WSL.
    Despite these efforts, the issue persists. I am running Windows 11 build no: 22631.2715 with WSL 2.0.9.0, and the error occurs every time I try to start WSL.

    Has anyone faced a similar issue? Specifically, I'm seeking guidance on navigating the System Integrity policy that's seemingly causing the block. Any insights into how Smart App Control impacts WSL's functionality and possible configurations to mitigate this would be greatly appreciated.
