Windows 10: how to activate password screen on sleep mode

    how to activate password screen on sleep mode


    Hi, I have a admin password. so when i put the pc in sleep mode it used to prompt for password in windows 8. But it seems in windows 10, it doesn't prompt for a password and goes directly to the os. How to put the password screen back in sleep mode?

    Win 10 not intermittently going to sleep

    Power Setting currently : Go to sleep after 30 minutes of no use, Require password on wakeup

    If I click sleep mode, it works. However, computer does not go to sleep if left unused for hours and does not activate lock screen or require password

    Windows 10 asks for password after screen turn-off timeout.

    Yes, this does the trick. I was concerned about prior Windows' behavior not allowing a shorter timespan for screensaver verses screen sleep modes. It works fine.

    I have my Screen set to sleep at 10 minutes and my blank screensaver set to activate at 20 minutes, and requiring Lock Screen (doesn't say password, but it does!!) so the password is required after the screensaver timeout, and not after the sleep timeout!
