Windows 10: how to activate windows smart screen defender?

Hello,

Im on my windows defender security center tab, trying to activate windows defender SmartScreen, which is supposed to help protect me from unknown or unwanted files of the web activity, right?

but the three ticking boxes of block/warm/ off are in greyed so i cannot tick any of them or make modifications at all!!

the option below, which refers to the microsoft edge smart screen is on Warm. but i dont use microsoft edge as my browser. i use chrome mainly.

how can i activate it, or how can i protect myself better from unknown files ...?

• Open Windows Defender Security Center settings and go to
  App & browser control.

Cannot activate Windows Defender

On my laptop "Toshiba Satellite L455" I did upgradation to W-10 from W-7 (original).

There is no antivirus program on this PC.

I wanted Windows Defender to run. But it says that it is switched off.

Want to activate it.

On opening Windows defender, there is no option to activate it.

In step 2 of your suggestion, it says:

"Windows could not start the Windows Defender Network Inspection Service on local computer.

Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start"

Can you pl give a method to activate the defender?

 

I can't get a video to stream to my lg smart tv in full screen , it's playing full screen on the pc no problem

To assist you better, I like to know; how exactly you are trying to stream video from your PC to LG Smart TV?

As an initial step, I suggest you to try updating the display adapter on your system.

Follow the below steps:

• Click on the Start button, and type Device Manager on the search bar.
• Open Device Manager, expand Display Adapters.
• Find and double-click Display Adapters from the left panel to update.
• Right-click the device, and click Update.

As you are able to play the video full screen in your PC, then it might be an issue related to LG Smart TV. I suggest you to check for the LG Smart TV manual and check what all settings need to done to play video in full screen.
