Windows 10: How to add a Cellular APN configration using Windows Configuration Designer

I want add a Cellular APN configuration by some kind of tool or command, which can implement the same result as Windows Settings->Network & Internet->Cellular->Advanced option->Add APN for a tablet and it contain SIM card.

I search in the web site, and I find maybe I can use Windows Configuration Designer to implement. And I follow the instruction of https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/provisioning-apn to create an EnterpriseAPN configuration, explore to ppkg and install it in the tablet, but it fail to install, I search the error in Event Viewer, Application and Service Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> DeviceManagment-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider->Admin, the error code is 0x80070002.


Then I create a new cellular configuration with APN configure, no other configuration. This new ppkg can install successfully, but I can't see this configuration from Windows Settings->Network & Internet->Cellular->Advanced option.


So, is there any other way I can add APN settings except using Windows Settings?

APN settings via Windows Configuration Designer

Hello everybody,

In our company we use Lenovo laptops, with windown 10 and a built in Sierra cellular modem.

we are about to start working with a new SIM card operator that requires a special APN, and we do not want our users to manually enter the APN, but looking for a simpler method.

We tries setting a profile with the Windows Configuration Designer, and have a few issues with it

1. We are not sure if the correct field to use is the "cellular" or the "EnterpriseAPN". What are the differences between them?

2. We tested one profile we created on one of the computers. Right after adding the provisioning package the APN was changed to "Admin APN", without the option to set a different one.

After a power cycle (shut down) the Admin APN was shown as one of the options on the default APN list.

3. we tried to remove the provisioning package, but the Admin APN is still present in the settings. How can we remove it?

Anyone is able to help with these settings? I could not find a decent manual to refer to either.

LTE APN Problems


So I bought a HP Spectre X2 with LTE
It was designed for Verizon but the Amazon Listing says Supports T Mobile

I put the SIM In. And it works shows T Mobile and everything is fine.

Then if I reinstalled Windows or Update. Or ANY change to the OS. The LTE no longer works. It will show T Mobile. It will go back and forth between Activating and Applied

And if I try and connect it says Enter APN No APN Found

I've had To Mobile on the phone. Threw various APNs in. And Nothing

There is an APN there but it just won't work. Something is getting messed up and I really love this tablet and want the LTE to work

Please help
