Windows 10: How to add a new account when can’t log in to notebook?

My child had a new notebook for Christmas and started the setup themselves .They entered an incorrect email address.Now when we start the machine, we see the windows sign in screen, with their name. When we hit sign in, the incorrect email address is shown. I can’t see an option to add another account on this device. There is no option to login as another user.In the bottom corner of the screen I have three icons: internet, accessibility and power. There’s no option to logout.I spoke to Asus who suggested a factory reset, but I can’t follow the steps they’ve provided, without first having acce

Settings can't be opened using the built-in administrator account


Hello,
Unfortunately I have the same issue as Dabz from upgrading win7 to win10.
I've tried opening settings using all the suggested methods and it will not load using my account with Administrator access nor the built-in Administrator profile. I also tried other methods not listed such as using Run. Control panel is just a stepping stone to add users in Settings.
I'm also having explorer.exe issues, which I believe is preventing Settings from loading.
Using cmd (Admin) I successfully created a new user profile [and granted admin access also using cmd (Admin)], however win10 will not allow this account to log on. win10 does not list this new user within control panel but it does in the start menu. win10 will not allow to log in or switch to the new account via the start menu either.
I can access settings in Safe Mode but this will not allow me to create a new account.
Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Also may I suggest you change email accounts to one of the following.....

Gmail
Outlook

The reason is they both use "Step two verification". This style of verification means even if a hacker gets your password they cannot log in to your account. You see every time someone try's to log in that hasn't been verified you will get a text or a phone call giving you a final code to log in. Its very easy and simple to setup also. The great thing is once you setup your Email application with a specific "application password" from that account you never have to log in again AND your account is protected from being logged in from foreign entities.

I like the new outlook personally however Gmail is also damn good. Gmail also has an IP tracker that allows you to see WHERE the account has been logged in from. Anyway let us know if you wanna change over and have any questions. We will be happy to help and welcome to TPU!

I understand that you are unable to create a new notebook in OneNote app. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue by following certain troubleshooting steps. For more clarity on the issue, please respond to the
questions below.

1. Are you aware of any changes being made to the PC?
   
2. Were you able to create notebooks prior to this issue?
   
3. Have you signed in with Microsoft account on the PC?
   
4. Which version of OneNote app are you using?
   
5. Are you trying to create the notebook on Computer or OneDrive?
   

If you are creating the Notebook on Computer, then please try creating it on OneDrive and check. Also, you can try doing vice versa and check if you are able to create.



However, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.



Method 1:



I would suggest you to check for updates and make sure the PC is up to date. Refer the article

Keep your PC up to date.



Method 2:



Try running the Windows apps troubleshooter and check if that helps.

1. Go to Settings >
   Update & Security > Troubleshooter.
   
2. Under Find and fix problems look for
   Windows Store Apps.
   
3. Now click on it and select
   Run the troubleshooter.
   
4. Follow the on screen instructions.
   

Method 3:



I would suggest you to create a new user account and check if that helps. Refer the article
