Windows 10: How to add a Windows Update group policy in the registry editor

Hi,I need to configure a NoAutoUpdate setting for windows update.However WindowsUpdate policy is missing in the registry editor. My understanding is that it should be here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\but that the WindowsUpdate registry key doesn't exist by default.Therefore, I would like to add a Windows Update group policy in the registry. Can somebody point me at how to do that? Many thanks in advanxce for the help.

ALL settings are applied through the registry. The Group Policy Editor is just a GUI with a set of templates containing the registry settings required. Microsoft publish this spreadsheet listing all the policies and the registry settings they use.

Hi there guys. I'm trying to better understand how settings work in Windows. Some settings are applied directory through the registry editor while others are applied though the group policy editor. To make things more confusing, policy settings can also be applied though the registry. Are both hklm\SOFTWARE\Policies and hkcu\SOFTWARE\Policies tethered to group policy editor? Also why is it when you apply a policy setting through the registry, it still appears as not configured in the group policy editor
