Windows 10: How to Add a Work UUser-Account to Windows 11 When the Administrator is a Local User?

Dear Community,I am the owner of a small company using Microsoft 365 for a team of 5 people.I recently set up a fresh installation of Windows 11 on my laptop using a work account, which automatically designated my primary Microsoft 365 account as the main administrator for the laptop. Subsequently, I was able to add other users as work accounts as well as local users.However, when I attempted to set up another computer desktop with Windows 11 using a local administrator account, I encountered an issue while trying to add a user with a Work Account. New Local Account Not Working In Windows 10

Hi Scott,

This issue could have happened due to corrupted profile on your Windows 10. We suggest that you delete the non-working profile on your PC and try to register it again.

To delete your non-working account, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Click on the *Start menu**. It's the Windows logo in the bottom left of your screen.
•

  Click on Family & other users.
  
• 
  Click on the account you wish to remove.

  Click on the remove button.

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

 

How do i get my user account to administrator account

Hi,

To make the account an administrator account, we recommend the steps below:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Select Account, then click Family & other people (or
  Other people, if you're using Windows 10 Enterprise).
• Then, select Change account type.
• Under Account type, select Administrator, then hit
  OK.

Restart your machine and sign in with the new administrator account.

If the the issue still persists, we suggest to create a local user then do
the steps above again.
