    Laptop running Windows 10 cannot format USBs so I can fix my Surface Pro 4

    I have a Surface Pro 4 and it has died, won't let me rebuild through any of the in built functions. I have resorted to downloading the Surface Pro build of the Microsoft site...but...I am trying to use my laptop to create the USB boot drive and every time
    I try and format the USB I get a very unhelpful windows error. "Windows cannot format". Laptop is windows 10 running on a Sony SAIO. Am at this point extremely frustrated. Suggestions on how to get the USB formatted so I can try and resolve the Surface pro
    issue myself. Thanks
