Windows 10: How to adjust jump lists in Win10 enterprise?

How to adjust jump lists in Win10 enterprise? In Win8.1 task bar property page would allow me to change the jump list length, but it is missing in Win10 enterprise.

I am trying to enlarge the jumplist by draging it will not work.

A Jump list cannot be dragged to make it bigger.

If you want to increase the number of recent items that can be displayed in a Jump list:

• Right-click on an empty space on the Taskbar
• From the menu, choose Properties
• From the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window, choose the Start Menu tab
• Adjust the "Number of recent items to display in Jump lists" as you wish.

I'm looking for the same thing. I previously had my jump list set to 30, but it's not looking like that stayed through the Windows 10 upgrade. However, it looks like I can modify the jump lists the same way as they are discussed in the below thread, but I'm wondering if there is still some sort of limit that Windows 10 has a cap on as it really doesn't appear to be working *Sad I'm going to restart and keep messing around with it, but we'll see how it goes. I noticed that as I unpinned things, my jump list got smaller... which was NOT what I was looking for!

Not yet.
Looks like 10 was a rush job. (whatdayawantforfree?)
There's quite a few "missing" features.
I suspect(hope) the issue will addressed soon.

The following works (I changed Explorer to Word and it seemed to apply the change across all the jump lists!)

• ​Open regedit.exe (Win+R)
• Navigate to: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced"
• Create a new "Dword (32-bit) value"
• Name it "EnableXamlJumpView"
• Set its value to 1
• Restart PC

 

The current (fixed) limit is 12 items, I'll try the reg fix tonight & will report back

 

How do you mean, you "changed Explorer to Word"? I have that same Dword, but the jump lists are still stuck at 12 items (and some don't even allow THAT many).

 

That's in there, but Jump Lists stuck at 9.

Sorry for the confusion Robert. I should have been more explicit. The regedit fix I implemented only turned on the jump lists (I had no jumplists). It didn't fix the limit.
I added the DWORD to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Word\Advanced rather than HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced. This seemed to trigger ALL the jump lists and not just the WORD one as I was expecting.
Makes you wonder why coders made such an arbitrary decision? "Oh I know, why don't I just change something that everyone was perfectly happy with and do it my way - no need for consultation."

 

Agreed...and no worries about the confusion--I'm confused a lot of the time, anyway. *Smile I'm pretty disappointed with the way Windows 10 doesn't allow us to change the number of items in jump lists the way 7 did. Hoping maybe it gets fixed at some point. *Smile

 

Here's the fix for Windows 10:

1) Run Regedit
2) Drill down to HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
3) Create a new DWORD entry named JumpListItems_Maximum
4) Set the (decimal) value of JumpListItems_Maximum to 20
5) No need to restart - works immediately
