Windows 10: How to allow Minecraft through Windows firewall

My family cannot play Minecraft on LAN due to Windows firewall.When I disable the firewall, everything works. When I enable the firewall, nobody can connect to the host. It doesn't matter who hosts.We have other games that work perfectly on LAN with firewall enabled. All machines are Windows 11 Home, all brand new machines, fully updated, with no additional software except Minecraft, Steam and a couple of Steam games. There is no VPN. I have tried disconnecting the router and internet such that we are only connected via ethernet switch. All games except Minecraft continue to work on LAN. File

Windows Firewall - how to allow access

I believe that my firewall is blocking access to Family Tree Maker / Ancestry / MacKiev SYNC - I can't see any reference to any of these names in the allowed list ....

I can't see any way of adding to the allowed list

Any suggestions ?

• Search for Firewall using Cortana or the Search bar.
• In the Windows Firewall window, choose
  Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall.
• Click the Change Settings button, and then select the apps on your device that you want to allow or be exempted on the
  Firewall.
• Click OK and then the Close button to close the
  Windows Firewall window.

• Right click on Start menu icon.
• Select Control Panel.
• Now select Windows Firewall.
• Select "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall" from left hand side pane.
