Windows 10: How to analyze kernel mode minidump files. usb crashing system and/or safe removal renders...

Good evening DaveM121,I have been looking through the forum trying to solve an issue with usb drives wreaking havoc upon insertion crash = unexpected_kernel_mode_trap. I try to restart my system via Windows menu, which then goes to black screen, ramps up my fans and I cannot use PC power switch to turn off. I must use the PSU switch. If I luck out and can use the drive, when I safely remove the it, if I re-insert it, you hear the Windows chime, but the drive is not recognized. Device manager shows the usb mass storage device with an exclamation point next to it. I literally have to hard rest

BSOD: Kernel Mode Heap Curruption (Minidump available)

Hi

When I'm not using my computer (but leave it running), often when I come back (after 30 minutes or longer or so), it has crashed. Sometimes, I cannot get it to display anything at all, and sometimes the BSOD with Kernel Mode Heap Corruption is shown (but
it doesn't restart on its own). In both situations, I have to use "F13" (aka Power Key) to restart the PC "the hard way".

I already turned off sleep, hybrid sleep, USB selective suspension, and display turn off (suspecting that one of these causes the problem when I'm not using the PC). But the problem persists.

Could an expert please analyze the minidump file and point me to the problem?

Safe mode problem

Hi,

To get better clarity on the issue, kindly answer the questions below:

• By saying that you have a "Safe mode problem," did you mean to say that your computer is stuck in Safe mode or are you unable to boot it to Safe mode?
• What troubleshooting steps have you attempted to resolve your concern?

If this is caused by recent programs installed on your computer, then we suggest you to run
System Restore to revert your system files to an earlier date. To run System Restore, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
• On the run command box, type "RSTRUI.EXE" and hit enter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions.

Make sure that you choose the restore point date when your computer was working fine. Please be advised that programs and applications installed on your computer after the restore point will be removed.
