  1. How to apply a custom screensaver in Windows 10?

I recently got hold of the Bliss Screensaver from Windows XP (through this video) and was wondering how to apply it to my Windows 10 PC?

When I extracted the file I found a .avi , .exe and .scr file and from this tutorial, I got to know you have to put the .scr file in System 32.

I did that and when I go to Personalization to apply it, I do see the Bliss option but when I apply it nothing happens, no matter how much time I wait for.

So can somebody help me? Thanks!

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

    • Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and sort by file type.
    • Look for the screensaver file type (.scr).
    • Find the file scrnsave.scr(you can choose any of the screensavers).
    • Right click and select send to>desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut on my attachment, but when i click on it my screen goes off and on and nothing else. How to apply a custom screensaver in Windows 10? :)

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

How to apply a custom screensaver in Windows 10?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
