I'd like to apply "#" and "Length" columns to every subfolder inside of my Music folder. Not system wide. Is there anyway possible to do this quickly without manually editing hundreds of folders? Please don't copypasta the troll "Folder Options>Apply to folders" which applies it system wide. I have to redo dozens of folders now thanks to that troll top search result. Thanks a ton!

Apply folder columns to all subfolders and a backup

    Hi,

*Arrow Apply Folder View to All Folders of Same Type in Windows 10

Go to parent folder Properties - > Customize tab, select "Music" and check "Also apply this..." box

Create your desired columns in parent or any subfolder, then go to View -> Options ->

Nope! Not really, there's a bit of work involved...

You have to apply your settings to all five of these folder types...

... and that's just the folders, you also have to apply your settings to the child folders with items in them, for each folder type,

then, if you add or create new media, AFTD, (Automatic Folder Type Discovery), screws up the settings for new items!

There's also a few more folders you have to set manually as well; Control Panel, Recycle Bin, This PC, just to name a few!

    It's a pain!!! *Wink

How to apply folder column Length and # to all subfolders ONLY

How to assign a folder column layout to subfolders?

Thank you for the response, Andre.

Unfortunately, the steps you provide do not have an effect on the folder view with regard to the column selection nor order in which they appear.

Current default columns for "Music" type view:

Name # Title Contributing Artists Album

    Desired columns and order

Name Date Modified Length Size Title Date Created
