Windows 10: How to assign location information dedicated port number to all the USB ports

Hi,How does windows assigns location information for the USB port. Port no is defined by Windows.Does this port information remains same for all the physical ports of same make and same model? How can I change the location information for the USB ports.Hemadri

Assigned USB Ports?

You do not need to assign USB ports and there are no "correct" or "incorrect" USB ports.

It might be useful for you to explain what exactly you mean with "I moved my mouse port to the back of the PC". Could it be that you plugged your mouse into a USB socket at the back of the PC? If so, are the sockets at the back of the PC connected to anything
on the motherboard?

Assigning a usb port to a specific Com port

Hi guys,

My modem have 2 usb port, and i only need to use 1 of it.

My problem now is my modem is using a cfast card, whenever i change a cfast card and i plug into the usb port, the com port will keep jumping numbers and i do not want that.

Am i able to set the specific usb port to a specific com port number for example like COM port 3 whenever a usb is plug into the usb port?

Or is there any other way i can do it?
