  1. how to avoid/fix cross contamination of apps in windows 11

there are 2 user accounts in our family computer one being the admin and the other account being standard my account. My problem is that whenever an application that I downloaded in my standard account it also shows in the admin acc the same goes other way around and when I delete an app in my standard acc it also deletes the app in the admin acc. How can I fix this issue , the ones I found on this community goes way back in 2009 so it didn't help in my case .

    :)

  2. Cross on Desktop Icons

    Hi all,

I have just got a Dell Inspiron 3910 with Windows 11.

Some of my desktop icons have a white cross in a red circle on them instead on the white square with the blue arrow.

Can someone give me a step by step guide on how to fix this (I am not an IT expert)

    Cursor "cross" is transparent

Hi RR and thanks for your reply and suggestion.

Here's an update from my end:

This only happens on my laptop screen when it is plugged into a second monitor.

    • If Excel is on the second monitor, then the cursor cross is white.
    • If the laptop isn't plugged into the second monitor then the cursor cross is white.
I think the same happens on all Office applications - certainly PowerPoint as well.

From this ^^above, I doubt it is an Excel setting. Not really sure where to start looking for a fix. The issue is that it impedes the use of the application as you keep losing where the damn cursor is.

how to avoid/fix cross contamination of apps in windows 11

RPi2 from Windows cross compilation Error "The test for linking against libxcb failed!"

Error in Cross Compilation, I am using Qt5.0, Windows10, Raspberry Pi 2.
I was following this tutorial and the process failed at step 16 and tried with its suggestion but cannot find a solution.

Error prompted after step 16 is:

    Running configuration tests...
The test for linking against libxcb failed!
Use of pkg-config is not enabled, maybe you want to pass -force-pkg-config?
You might need to install dependency packages for libxcb.
    See src/plugins/platforms/xcb/README.

and when I printed log in file as tutorial suggested, there are some errors mentioned like:

    • cc1plus.exe: error: unrecognized command line option '-fuse-ld=gold'
    • error "Symbolic function binding on this architecture may be broken, disabling it (see QTBUG-36129)."
    • etc.

I tried but still find no solution.
