  1. How to avoid Windows updates from overwriting personal settings

Windows updates almost always overwrites my personal settings, such as power and screen lock settings, or sometimes touchpad settings. Is there a way to install Window updates and keep/retain my personal settings or preferences? It's pretty annoying to have to reset my custom power plan or turn off the touchpad, etc. Who know what else was changed and that I haven't noticed, yet.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. Settings/Personalization

    Hi,

We suggest that you follow the steps below to put your settings back to default and see if it helps.

    • Right-click your mouse on your desktop.
    • Click on Personalize.
    • Select Colors.
    • Click on High contrast settings.
    • From the drop-down menu, select None.
    • Click Apply.
    • Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

    Let us know the result.

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

    AMD FX OC'ers Club

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
