Windows 10: How to be given option to save screenshot

I use shift+windows+s to screenshot but it saves to clipboard and to save it permanently I have to paste it in Word. I can also use Snipping Tool but to do that I have to pull up an app and that disrupts my work flow. I want a shortcut that will let me take a cropped screenshot and then save as.

How do I save snip screenshots as .JPG?

Hi,





You can save a screenshot directly as a .jpeg file in the Snipping tool. You can do that by following these steps:

• 
  Press File.
  
• 
  Select Save As....
  
• 
  Choose a File name.
  
• 
  Select the drop-down besides Save as type.
  
• 
  Select JPEG file.
  
• 
  Press Save.
