Windows 10: How to change account sign-in for file explorer?

I used to have my school account connected to my computer, but I have graduated now, and my account has deactivated my Microsoft account. Now i am getting an error message saying "account disconnected" due to school account being closed. How can I remove this?

Yes, you can Colin. You change the account that is being used to sign in to File Explorer in Windows 11. Here are the steps to do so:

Open File Explorer.
Click on the "Please sign in" notice.
In the "Sign in" window, click on the "Use another account" link.
Enter the email address and password for the account that you want to use to sign in to File Explorer.
If prompted, enter the two-factor authentication code for the account.
Click on "Sign in".
Once you have signed in with the correct account, it should be used by default the next time you open File Explorer. If you want to switch to a different account later on, you can follow the same steps and enter the credentials for that account.

Note that the account you use to sign in to File Explorer may affect the permissions and access that you have to files and folders on your computer or network. If you encounter any issues with file or folder access, you may need to adjust the permissions or ownership settings for those items

 

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

File explorer sign in change error

If Just started my computer and for some reason in file explorer in the top right hand corner it's asking to sign in. When I click to sign in it asking for the password with the account defaulting for some reason to my daughter's gmail address and its not giving me the option to change to sign in with another account i.e. mine. I have signed in to microsoft on the computer again and things like Office are running under my account so what's happened and how do I sign in to file explorer under my name.
