Windows 10: How to change boot order from legacy to Uefi

I recently unistalled the operating system so I installed windows 10 on legacy boot even tough my device support uefi can I change back to uefi boot after installing Windows 10 up to windows 11 and will I lose my data?

It is a personal choice, I always use Legacy boot, because if Windows ever needs repairing, it is easier to do in Legacy Mode . . .

Have you installed Windows on the new hard drive?

If so after installing Windows, did you change the boot order back, so your new hard drive is top of the Boot order list?

 

How to change a legacy Boot W10 diskt to use UEFI Boot

Hi all,

I would like to modernize my well running W10 by changing the boot process to UEFI (Reason: Using NVmE SSDs or GPT sized disk). Because the system has many well configured apps used day by day a clean install would be the least favorable choice.

So my questions are:

• Is it possible to patch a fully installed and featured W10 from legacy boot to UEFI boot? And how?
• If possible: does a patched system needs a new activation (Its a migrated W10 from W7)?

BTW: I have already read lots of post dealing with UEFI. But I didn't find any usable answer yet.

Legacy to UEFI

I'm debating moving to UEFI form my now legacy BIOS (Award Software Int.) the mother board is a GA-Z68XP-UD3 rev1.0 on the the following link it shows a UEFI BIOS U1J )UEFI BIOS)

Currently I'm running the legacy F10 BIOS. Does installing the UEFI BIOS automatically take care of everything to get to the UEFI BIOS? Installing the UEFI BIOS following the instructions using the Q-flash method GIGABYTE How to Reflash Motherboard BIOS

What's steps do I take and in what order?
