How can I change the date format to mm-dd-yyyy in Windows 11? It only allows mm/dd/yyyy. I need to use dashes - not slashes / as a separator. Windows 10 previously allowed this. How do I do it in Widows 11?

  2. Date format with dashes instead of slashes

    Hi Dave,

This did solve the problem. I didn't - why I don't know - realize that I can type in the box my own format! Problem solved, although to me it remains a mystery why on all other laptops and PCs there are all date format )slashes/ dashes) in the list from
the beginning, but not on my laptop.

    Thanks for the proposed solution.

    Best,

    Danker

  3. Date format with dashes instead of slashes

    Hi all,

I run Windows 10 Pro. Something strange happened when I reset my laptop today: in the date format option in control panel there's now only the option with the slashes, like 03/Apr/18 etc. but nothing like 03-Apr-18. Why are they missing and how do I get
them back? From the beginning long ago I always use dates like 3-Apr-18 or 3-Apr-2018 or 3-4-18, etc. I just don't like the slash system, am not used to it.

Previously I had several option, the dash system and the slash system, but not anymore.

    Thanks, and regards,

    Danker

How to change date separator in Window 11 from "/" slash to "-" dash??

Date format change in 1703 update?

My Windows 10 Home updated from version 1607 to 1703.

I'm using a third party program built in Delphi in 2008 for accessing a network database. Since the update the field for entering dates in the program is only showing two slashes instead of the date.

Has there been a change in how Windows handles the dates in the 1703 update?

The date field works, I can type in the date, but no numbers are shown. There is a date picker asociated with the field and it also works. I've tried changing the date format in the Windows settings, picking other locations and country formats but the numbers
    aren't displayed.

Changing the d/m/y order affects the input filed and the slashes in the field are changed with the Windows date format ie if I put dashes the field will display dashes.

I did a recovery and reverted back to build 1607 and now the program is working again but this is just a temporary solution since I can't avoid updates.

The developer of the program is not available.
