Icon indentation (Tiles or Content) in Window Explorer is too large. How to restore to default?

However, the problem is actually to do with how the folder list is displayed
by Explorer, not the file locations or folder structure.

Perhaps if I illustrate with a portion of a screenshot from Windows 10 file explorer (in particular, the left panel folder browser)...



...the problem is that when your focus is on the files you are manipulating, there are then no
connective marks between folders and, worse, the indentation difference employed in the folder list is so small that it impairs what should otherwise be effortless understanding of relative folder-depth of folders whether looking at the top or bottom
of the list.

For example, in the given image, how long does it take to figure out if the "en-US" folder at the bottom is daughter, sibling, or parent of the highlighted "diagnostics" folder? ...answer: an order of magnitude longer than it should!

The offset in indentation should be much larger and there should be a permanent
visual indication of the relative folder depth -- be that rectilinear gridlines, colored columns, whatever.

So the question remains whether anyone knows of settings (deeply buried in control plan or registry, etc, etc) that can help immediately or if there are known corrective measures in the pipeline?
