Windows 10: How to change font size and font weight for a Windows Terminal profile in Windows 10

Apart from changing the font size, Windows Terminal also provides the feature to set font-weight. You will be able to set font-weight to Normal, Bold, Semi-Light, Thin, Extra-Light, Semi-Bold, Medium, Black, Extra-Black, Extra-Bold, or custom (between 0 to 1000). So, depending on the font size set by you, you can select a font-weight that will best fit that font size.

Change font size and font weight in Windows Terminal


To change the font size for a profile in Windows Terminal, you need to follow these steps:

• Open Windows Terminal
• Open Settings page
• Select a Windows Terminal profile
• Access the Appearance page for the selected profile
• Set font size
• Use the Save button.

First of all, use the Start menu or Search box to open the Windows Terminal app. It will open with the default profile set by you.

After this, open its Settings page. Use Ctrl+, hotkey to open it. Alternatively, you can simply click on the drop-down menu present on the top part and select the Settings option to open it.



Now you need to select a profile for which you want to change the font size. Use the Profiles section available on the left side and select a profile. After that, access the Appearance page using the right section.



Finally, you can change the font size using the given option. The option to set font-weight is also there. Once the font size is changed, use the Save button.



Now access that Windows Terminal profile and you will see that font size is changed.

Windows 10 changing Font

I cannot change the system fonts in Windows 10. I have gone in and changed the title bars, etc, but there are still some fonts that are too small for my eyes. One example is my Outlook address book. Anyone have any suggestions please?

I found these steps in this forum from back in 2010:

Step 1:

I would suggest you to try these steps and check whether it helps in fixing your issue.

Open font settings by clicking on start, click on control panel, and then click on appearance and personalization, under fonts click on change font settings. And select the font size.

Step 2:

If you’re trying to change windows font size then please follow the steps below:

To change Windows fonts

1. Open Appearance Settings by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type window color, and then click Change window colors and
metrics.

2. In the Item list, click the part of Windows that you want to change the font for. For example, if you want to change the menu font, click Menu in the list. Then, make any of the following changes:

· In the Font list, click the font that you want to use.

· In the Size list, click the font size that you want.

· In the Color list, click the font color that you want.

3. Repeat these steps for each item that you want to make changes to, and then click OK.

Excel change default comment font weight


In Excel 2010 the default comment font has been bold for me for as long as I can remember (even in a fresh install in Win 10). In this post Title Bar Text Size - Change in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums The common fix of changing the tooltip font works for the font size but not the font weight. I have used Kutools to change all comments to regular weight in the past but it's unstable in Win 10 and causes problems with other software. I know that I can type a character, hit ctrl-B and get the next character to regular weight but then I have to go back and delete the first character. Hitting ctrl-b immediately doesn't work. Obviously this is clunky and time wasting. Using Kutools tools in the past it changes the font weight for the entire comment, including the bold commentor name. I want it to function like I see in any example I can find, which always was the commentor name in bold and the rest of the comment regular weight. As far as I remember that was the case in every version of Excel I used before 2010.
