How to change fonts in Windows 10 ?

I would like to change default system fonts that are used in applications, file managers, shell menus, windows titles, but I can not find the option to do so. I am comming from the Linux Mint where you have option "fonts" in control panel and there you change fonts, but here in W10 I can not find anything similar. Also, on my laptop Acer E5-571G, fonts are kinda hard to read, they are not very clear, like here on this site for example. Clear type tuning or however it is called is turned on. This is why I would like to change fonts to something else than default.

    :)

I would like to know how to do it too, but from what I've read, you can't; at least, there doesn't seem to be a GUI-based Windows setting for doing it (there may be hacks and/or third-party applications for doing it). It is yet another example of reduced functionality from Microsoft, given that it is something you can do in previous versions of Windows. For example, here Microsoft tells us how to do it in Windows 7:

  5. I found a method to change the default Windows 10 UI font to something else. See this thread:

How do I change Windows 10 fonts? - Super User

He posted the text to make a .reg file ...
Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts] "Segoe UI (TrueType)"="" "Segoe UI Bold (TrueType)"="" "Segoe UI Bold Italic (TrueType)"="" "Segoe UI Italic (TrueType)"="" "Segoe UI Light (TrueType)"="" "Segoe UI Semibold (TrueType)"="" "Segoe UI Symbol (TrueType)"="" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes] "Segoe UI"="Tahoma"[/quote] ... and I can confirm that it works (and I'm very pleased; I've been looking for a way to do this ever since I installed Windows 10). The text he posted already does exactly what I wanted to do (i.e., replace the hideous default Windows 10 UI font (Segoe UI) with Tahoma (which was the default UI font in the far superior Windows XP operating system). I presume that you can change the default UI font to anything you want, simply by changing the word Tahoma in the last line to whatever font you want.

You have to reboot afterwards for the registry change to take full effect (stopping and restarting explorer.exe would probably work as well).

Must necro this thread, since I have same problem. Can someone tell me how exactly do I make a .reg file with those values posted above? Thanks.

Don't need to change settings in your registry, just go to Control panel, Appearance and Personalization, then choose Display. Try that.

Nevermind, I think I have some sort of Windows bug. I tried WinaeroTweaker to change fonts (which worked, except for menus font) and then I tried this solution: SOLVED: Change Fonts in Windows 10 and 8.1 - YouTube , still menus font stays unchanged. Every other font on my system is changed except menus font, even when it says it's set to my font that I put. Weird bug.
