Windows 10: How to change Hardware ID of a SSD or HDDDual-booting simplifying

Hello all,So I frequently change my secondary OS currently my main OS is Windows 11 and my secondary OS is Garuda.It doesn't seem to matter what I do, but neither on will read a Drive Name or Partition Name set by the other OS.I want to be able to somehow label the drives so that they show up the same on all Operating systems: Windows Disk/Linux Disk/etc,As well as the volumes/partitions: >These don't need to access each other, just read the name of the partitions<Windows Specific - Windows 10[NTFS]/Windows 11[NTFS]/Windows RecoveryLinux specific - GarudaOS[BTRFS] / Kali [e

Change Hardware ID

I have software that the company has closed and part of the installation that I need to do has the new hardware ID. It doesn't match the one before upgrading so my user name and key will no longer work. I have documentation showing the original hardware
ID and the installation shows the current hardware ID. Is there a way to change this on my newly updated computer back to the old one. I upgraded the operating system to windows 10 and hd to SSD.

Windows 10 SSD Boot and Sleep faliure

Windows cannot stop the BIOS recognising the SSD. If at any time you can go into the BIOS and the SSD is not listed then you have an (intermittent) hardware fault. It does not matter what the precursor steps are if the hardware was OK it must be listed

Step 6 is categorical, you have a hardware fault. BIOS device recognition is always before drivers load so they cannot affect the process

 

How to change boot from HDD to SSD?

Hello Alden,

I understand that you've already tried to change the boot order/sequence of your computer. To help you change the boot order/sequence to your SSD, refer to the steps below:

1. While your computer is booting up, press the F2/Del key to enter BIOS setup.

2. Change the boot order/sequence and set your cloned SSD as the 1st boot device.

3. Save the changes.
