  1. How to Change Icon Spacing Settings

    Summary:

This discussion covers changing icon spacing settings on the desktop.

    More Information:

Windows 10 no longer lets you change icon spacing settings because the ability to change desktop appearance - like changing fonts for the title-bar or changing colours for dialog boxes - is unavailable, but you can do so through Registry Editor.

WARNING: Using Registry Editor can cause serious,

system-wide problems that may require you to

reinstall Windows 10 to correct them. Microsoft

cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from

the use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use this

    tool at your own risk.

    Workaround:

    To change icon spacing settings:

    1. Press WINDOWS LOGO + R and type regedit before pressing ENTER.

    2. Double-click HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

    3. Double-click Control Panel.

    4. Double-click Desktop.

    5. Double-click WindowMetrics.

    6. Do the following:

    a. To change the horizontal icon spacing settings, double-click IconSpacing.

Type a number after the - symbol and click OK. (For example, -1125, -1500, or -1800.)

    b. To change the vertical icon spacing settings, double-click IconVerticalSpacing.

Type a number after the - symbol and click OK. (For example, -1125, -1500, or -1800.)

    7. Exit Registry Editor.

    8. Either sign out and then back in, or restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

    :)

If the issue still persists, you can change the size of desktop icons.

    • Right-click an empty space on the desktop.
    • Select View and choose either Large, Medium or Small icons.
    • Check if you can change the size of the taskbar button.
Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

    Icon spacing

    This is how I did:

    1. Right click on desktop->Display Settings and set it 150%. NOTE: If you have dual monitors, click on other monitor and do the same.

    2. Control Panel->Display->Set a custom scaling level, again set it to 150%, Change the text size for each item: Menu, Title, icon etc... then click apply
