Windows 10: How to change language of OS on new laptop without reinstalling windows 10?

Hi,

I just received a new company laptop with the Windows 10 OS language in Italian. I have just been told by our IT that it is impossible to change the language to English without going through the whole process of reinstalling Windows.

I have tried to search for solutions online (such as: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-properly-change-system-default-language-windows-10) but apparently (IT told me that with the latest Windows 10) it did not work even with administrative access.

I find it a bit absurb that in this day and age that the language can only be changed with reinstallation...

Could someone help me with this? Is it possible to change the OS language without reinstallation? Thank you very much!

Windows 8.1 update changed the language, can't change back

Maybe, these will help... it seems it is a common enough problem.

Language packs are no longer available after you upgrade to Windows 8.1

Language options and Windows question??

If I was to get a laptop here and take over seas for a friend (they are massively cheaper here) can I change the language installed without reinstalling the OS?

Does anybody know how to do this in Vista or XP?

 

Change Windows 10 Language?

You can add a new language in Windows 10 through Settings app. For us to isolate the issue, we would like to know the following:

• What is the current build and version of your Windows?
  • Press the Windows key + R to display the Run
    dialog.
  • Type winver and click on OK button to display
    About Windows.
  • Take a screenshot and include it on your reply.
• What steps have you done to change the language?

If you haven't tried this yet, please follow these steps:

• Open the Settings app.
• Click on Time & language.
• Select Region & language.
• Click on Add a language, and then choose the language that you want.
• Click on the new language, and then click on the Set as default
  button.
