One of my hard drives broke and that's where my Captures folder was set to. I've tried moving my 'Video' folder over to the other hard drive but it did not create a 'Captures' folder. Settings -> Gaming -> Captures show my videos being saved to a /local/TEMP folder and the videos do show up there but this is a tiny hard drive just for the OS. When I access game bar -> see my captures -> open folder location I see no videos listed in the game bar menu and the open folder location button does nothing.

    :)

Hiding New Game Bar when Recording

    Hi LeviathanTheEsper,

Normally, You can play your games while recording it in the background. It seems that background recording is not enabled on your computer that's why the Game bar is showing up when playing your games. Let's check if background recording is enabled by performing
    the following steps:

    1. Press the Windows key, then select the gear icon to access Settings.
    2. Go to Gaming.
    3. Select Game DVR.
    4. Under Background Recording, check if the toggle switch is enabled.

We look forward to your update.

  3. Windows Game Bar not Recording Microphone By Default

Incorrect configuration setting is one of the potential reasons why Windows Game Bar is not recording microphone by default. To help you resolve this concern, you may perform the troubleshooting steps provided on the link below:

Game Bar randomly stops recording my microphone

    Hi LuizScruz,

    Thanks for your reply.

As I already mentioned in point 3 I checked the privacy settings of the microphone settings in windows. This can't be the issue anyway because Game Bar does pick up my microphone sometimes, as I mentioned in my original message.

I checked, my windows 10 is up to date. I will add this to the list in my original message.

My Microsoft Store apps are up to date too. I will add this to the list in my original message.

Also the suggestion to press Windows + i and check Games to enable the microphone by default is not relevant, since I mentioned in my message that the microphone is already enabled and does work sometimes. If I didn't have these settings enabled it wouldn't record at all.

So in summary, my system is up to date, and the other suggestions are not relevant because Game Bar is able to pick up my voice (but only when I switch it off and on again in the Game Bar menu, which is the issue).

    Any other suggestions?
