To change the new email notification sound on Windows 10, follow these steps-

1. Search for change system sound in Taskbar search box.
2. Click on the individual result.
3. Find out the New Mail Notification option.
4. Expand the Sounds drop-down list.
5. Choose a sound.
6. Click the OK button.

At first, you have to open the Sound window. For that, search for “change system sound” in the Taskbar search box and click on the individual result. Once it is opened, make sure that you are in the Sounds tab. If so, find out the New Mail Notification option.



Now, you can expand the Sounds drop-down list and choose audio. To hear the audio, click the Test button.



Once you get the desired audio, click the OK button. It will be set as your new email notification sound.

Like said earlier, it is possible to set custom audio as your new email notification sound. For that, you have to place your audio file (.wav) in the following location:

C:\Windows\Media

Next, open the Sound window as mentioned above, select the New Mail Notification option, and click the Browse button.



Now, find out the audio you pasted in the Media folder and click the OK button.

Once done, you can click the OK button to save the change.

As said, Windows changes the sound when you change the theme. However, you can create a sound scheme so that you can set all the custom audio at once after changing the theme. For that, change the new email notification sound and click the Save As button visible on the same window.



Enter the name of your sound scheme and click the OK button.

Windows 10 Mobile new Email Notification Sound Not Working - Again

Thank you for your response. You may consider the following suggested troubleshooting steps to resolve your concern:

* If you are using the combined email functionality that is originally with the phone, change it to simply use "Outlook Mail" and get rid of the "All Emails" from both the start screen, the notifications list and the lock screen.

* Set the ringer volume always on 8 or 9 and do not go to level 10.

Windows 10 Mobile new Email Notification Sound Not Working - Again

Thanks for the advice. Followed your instructions and those of Marcel Dio but unfortunately neither have resolved my problem to date but then I found my Outlook.com email account suddenly started to sound notifications again after I had unlinked my accounts!
So I had an idea.

I deleted my second email account entirely. Soft reset the phone. Added the second email account back in again and set up sounds etc. for it. Noticed it no longer relies on Outlook Calendar but now relies on Outlook Mail for grouping and notifications and
it is no longer listed separately in the app sounds list. Anyway re-linked the two accounts, mirrored their notification settings and voila! sound notifications are back again.

 

New Email Notification sound changed but not working

In Windows 10, I've gone into the Settings panel > Sounds > New Email Notification section and changed the default sound to a custom sound file. The sound file works fine when you test it after uploading it. But, all new emails continue to play the old,
default sound file.

Am I missing something or is this just broken?
