Windows 10: How to change only the two-finger scroll on the touchpad in Windows 10

I just bought a Lenovo Ideapad 330, and the touchpad sensitivity is correct - so when i use the touchpad to move the mouse around the screen, the speed is correct. Also when i attach a mouse and use the mouse wheel, the speed of that is also correct. the only problem is that when i use two fingers to scroll up or down it is ridiculously fast. it goes from the top of a web article to the bottom with the slightest scroll, and i can't scroll it to where i want. All the articles i found on the web were about how to change the touchpad sensitivity, not the two finger scroll. and i don't want to change the mouse wheel speed. is there a way to change only the speed when i use the two finger swipe up or down on the touchpad?

Touchpad 2 finger scrolling not working.

Before we proceed I would like you to answer the following question:

• Do you receive any error message?
• Have you enabled two finger scrolling?

I suggest you to follow the methods below:

Method 1:

I suggest you to enable two finger scrolling and check. Please follow the steps below:

1. Press or tap “Windows key + X”, click on "Control Panel." Navigate to "Mouse," under "Hardware and sound".

2. Select the "Touchpad" tab in the "Mouse" window. This tab will also list the touchpad manufacturer.

3. Select "Properties," "Settings," "Advanced".

4. Click the box next to "Enable scrolling" if this option is available.

5. Click the arrow to the right of "Scrolling" to open the scrolling list and select two-finger scrolling to access the specific features.

6. Click to enable for two-finger scrolling feature, then select "Adjust scrolling region" or the similar option, if available.

7. Drag the scrolling region to cover a larger portion of the touchpad if you want to ensure you can scroll easily.

8. Click "Ok" to apply any changes and close the options windows. Keep clicking "Ok" until all of the windows with this option are closed.

9. Restart your computer if prompted. Your scrolling feature should be enabled.

If the issue persists,

Method 2:

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the touchpad driver and check.

Refer the steps below to uninstall device driver:

• Click Start, type Device Manager in the Start search box and hit ENTER.
• Locate Keyboard Driver and expand the same.
• Right-click on touchpad driver and click on Uninstall button to uninstall the driver associated with the device.
• Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Also, download and install the latest touchpad drivers from the manufacturer website .

If driver for Windows 10 is not available then I suggest you
to install the driver in compatibility mode.

Follow the steps below to install the drivers in compatibility with Windows 10.

• Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘Properties’.
• Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box
  ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 10 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

One finger scrolling on touchpad

Hello !

I just bought a new laptop, a Dell Vostro 15 3568.

I noticed it doesn't have a one finger scrolling feature (sliding on the edge of the touchpad).

In Windows touchpad settings I can setup two finger scrolling (which works), and even 3 and 4 fingers gestures. But nothing about one finger scrolling.

When I go to "Additional settings" it opens the mouse settings, then I go to Hardware > Dell Touchpad > Properties in order to open Dell Touchpad Properties. In that window the "Change settings" button doesn't do what it says: instead it just closes and
reopens the Dell Touchpad Properties, this time without the "Change settings" button. So no way to change anything there.

Also when I read other forum topics about scrolling issues, I've seen that they use a program called "DellTpad.exe", which I don't have on my PC, and which doesn't seem to have one finger scrolling anyway.

Is it possible that the one finger scrolling is a feature that cannot be supported by my touchpad ? Otherwise how could I setup this option ?

 

How to change from two-finger scrolling back to one-finger scrolling?


This morning, I decided to make the jump to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, and I have to say, the design looks simpler to use, but this new OS software has done something with my touchpad. Originally, on my Windows 8.1, I was able to scroll through whatever web pages or folders in my computer with one finger using my touchpad. With this new update, initially, I thought it broke my touchpad completely, but the problem has been narrowed down to having to now use two fingers to scroll in the most awkward way as this touchpad doesn't seemed to be designed for two finger scrolling. Is there a way for me to change this back? Would I have to revert back to Windows 8.1 to get my one finger scrolling back?

The laptop I am using is a Gateway NE56R34u, and the touchpad is an ELAN. Any and all help would be much appreciated.
