How to change router name and password

Hi! Someone tried to get into my computer's Bluetooth this morning and I'm really creeped out. The name of the device is "View 1". It's made me think there might be cameras here in my new apartment. I'd like to change my router information as it's set to default from installation or will changing my Wifi password be enough? If someone can get into my router--would that make chancing wifi useless? Thank you so much!

    :)

Will ipconfig return my router user name and password?

Ipconfig will show you the router address but not the user name and password. I don't know of any way to retrieve the assigned username & password.

  3. Will ipconfig return my router user name and password?

Not home to try it though I am doubtful of this suggestion from Cox chat. I wanted to log into the router but can not recall either user name and or password. It is not admin and password : ) I did not make a recovery disc. If I can avoid resetting to factory default I would like to do that. Any suggestions on how to "make" my computer show me what my router user name and password is? If it matters this is my router:

    Trouble Changing Wi-Fi Password

I've been following the following steps to change my Wi-Fi password for some time:

    1. Launch Control Panel.
    2. Click "Network and Internet."
    3. Click "Network and Sharing Center."
    4. Click "Wi-Fi...."
    5. Click "Wireless Properties."
    6. Click the Security tab.
    7. Check "Show characters."
    8. Enter the password in "Network security key."
Those steps have been working just fine, but today I discovered a new wrinkle. If I change the password inside the router first, "Wi-Fi..." doesn't appear in step 4. This isn't much of a problem at home, because I can just change the password in Control Panel before I change it inside the router, but it would be a problem at a public hotspot, or something of that nature. I also tested Brink's instructions in "How to Connect To a Wireless Network in Windows 10," but they don't work for me either. How can I fix this?
