How to change settings in Paint so that screenshots are saved without giant white areas.

I use the screenshot tool pressing win-key, shift, & S at the same time to take a screenshot and then I open Paint and press control & V to paste the image into Paint. Whenever I do this, the image is very small and in the upper left corner of the Paint window. I have to save it to my computer and then crop out the giant white area that surrounds the image on the right and lower sides. Is there a setting that has changed? For a while I was able to take a screen shot and paste it to Paint without there being mostly white on the screen and having to crop it in Photos.

    :)

No more saving a screenshot when press ALT+PRINT after changing storage place

    Hello,

There are several factors that may cause this issue. To better assist you, we suggest that you answer the following questions:

    • When you press the keys to take a screenshot, can you paste the image to paint or to any photo editor apps?
    • Have you made sure that the auto save screenshot has a check mark in OneDrive? (Right-click OneDrive icon in the notification area> Click Settings> In the Auto save tab> Put a check in
Automatically save screenshots I capture to OneDrive box)
    • What other troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, you can also refer to the answer provided by

  3. Cannot edit images when saved in Fresh paint

    Hi Kamila,

As per the information, I understand that when you save an image drawn in Fresh Paint, you are unable to edit the image once saved.

If the above is true, I suggest that you follow the steps below to save the image in a manner that will allow you to edit it.

    • To save your painting right click on fresh paint and click on
      Save as
. You will get an option to select the location.
    • Select the location and save the painting.
    • When you reopen fresh paint you will be on the painting you used before closing fresh paint. If you do not get the painting, you may click on image and go to the location and select the image to edit.

For added information on Fresh Paint refer to the FAQ below

    Hope this helps

Screenshots-no option for opening via Paint

I'm sorry but I'm not referring to the ability of Paint to open a screenshot, but the listing of suggested apps in opening a screenshot via file explorer. This is what I mean:

How to change settings in Paint so that screenshots are saved without giant white areas. c130be99-6781-4844-a62d-1caa0c3d81bd.png

There's no option to open it via Paint. So I wonder why.
