Windows 10: How to change Start menu Shut down soft button?

Hello!Looking for a way how can to what Start menu Shut down soft button does wich GPO. Original GPO policy Computer/Policies>Windows Settings> Administrative templates> System/Power management/Button setting not working.Anyone can give advice for windows 10, how can change Start menu Shut down soft button actions?Thx

KB3194496 - Soft Re-start Issues

Since this was installed yesterday, my W10 Pro system will not successfully perform a soft Restart. The first time this happened was when this update (KB3194496) wanted to restart. The system shuts down, power on starts, the BIOS splash screen is displayed and it never goes anywhere from there. The keyboard is in-operable and their is some disk activity, but not much. The first time I let is set for 10 minutes, nothing happened. Pressing the Hard Restart Button, will restart the system and Windows will boot up. If you select a soft restart form the start button, same problem.

I have a smaller HP laptop with W10 Home on it that KB3194496 was also installed, but it restarts with no problem.

Has anybody else seen this ? Any suggestions ?

 

Shutdown button (Start Menu & Login Screen) logs out but doesn't shut down in Windows 10 Desktop PC

To make the shutdown button actually shutdown the PC, I had to change some settings in the power options.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to Control Panel → All Control Panel Items → Power Options → System Settings.
   
2. Click on the text which says "Change Settings that are currently unavailable".
   
3. Uncheck "Sleep". (This removes Sleep as an option in the Start Menu power options, but it solved the problem with shutting down, and I could still 'hibernate' if I wanted to)
   
4. Click "Save changes" at the bottom of the screen.

I followed these steps and it worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you too:

Step 1: Right-click the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the context menu.

Step 2: Type Powershell in Command Prompt and press Enter.

Step 3: Paste the following text in the Powershell window and press Enter.

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Wait for the command to run and ignore the red error prompts if they arise. The Start Menu should be operational now.
