    How to change the email address as an user name in windows 11?


    My name is not showing on my laptop it is only showing my email and when I went to change my name in control panel the option is not there.

    How to Rename my Windows 11 account name and email address?

    I recently traded up to a PC with Win 11. When I fired it up it forced me to use a Microsoft account, which I despise. I have one that I created a few years ago for this purpose but decided to not use it. I made up a fake email address.

    Well, when it set up my profile it uses that email address and set up my user profile directory under that name. In control panel it won't let me change the account type. I am the admin and the only one on this machine.

    Any suggestions on how I can change the email address and simplify my Win 11 user login name? I would also like to change the name of my user profile directory name Thanks. This is frustrating.

    P.S. I have researched this - no luck.

    How to change User name on Windows 10

    Hi Davit,

    I will certainly help you in changing the User name on Windows 10.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below to change the User name:

    • Press Windows logo + R keys to open the run command, type
      netplwiz       and click on Ok.
    • On the Users tab, click on Properties to change the user name and then click on
      Apply.
