Windows 10: How to change the microsoft account that is linked to the windows 11 product key after...

I need to change the microsoft account that is linked with the laptops digital license. I'm looking to use a different microsoft account with this laptop but it already has an account which is used to activate windows 11 product key. But the account which I want to add also has been linked to another laptop with a windows 10 product key.So how do I exchange both of these accounts with the laptops without interchanging the windows version between the two laptops? In simple terms I want to exchange the laptops and accounts but without changing the windows version in each of them.

Linking Windows 11 Product Key to my Microsoft account

I am trying to link my Windows 11 product key to my Microsoft account. I built my computer myself and bought a copy of Windows10 from Microcenter, and have since upgraded to Windows 11. I no longer have the original packaging or disk for Windows 10. I would like to link my Windows 11 Product Key to my account so that it's safe in the event that I ever needed to reinstall windows. I tried following the instructions here and here, but my user account is already logged with my Microsoft account, so I went through the steps of converting it to a local account, logging back in, then restarting my computer, but it still did not work.
