Windows 10: How to change username Windows 11?

How are you supposed to change the name of the actual user account for a windows 11 PC? I'm not referring to my Microsoft account or local account, like what i log in as or see on my login page, but the actual user path: C:\Users\usernamehere. The same one that shows up when using command prompt and becomes the name of your user folder on your local disk See image below for reference. I had someone setup my PC for me but they set this username to simply be "owner" and I want to change it to be my actual name. I cannot find any instructions or reference on how to do what should be a simple pr

Press the “Windows + R” shortcut to launch the RUN utility. After that, type lusrmgr.msc and press Enter. This will launch the Local Users and Groups console in Windows 11.

In the Local Users and Groups console, you will see the list of all user accounts. This list includes the default user accounts (Administrator, DefaultAccount, Guest, and WDAGUtilityAccount) and your account.

to rename or change the username or account name of your account in Windows 11, right-click on it and select Rename.

After that, type the new username and press Enter.

After changing the name, it’s time to change the full name of your account in Windows 11. So, right-click on your account and select Properties.

Now, in the properties window, type the new full name for your account. After that, click Apply and OK to save the changes.

Now restart your Computer.

If the above steps do not help, create another admin account, transfer your files and delete this user.

Settings (Win+I) > Accounts > Other users > Add account.

After adding a new account, change the account type to Administrator.

I have tried the guide which was made for windows 10 but it did not work. I followed the steps correctly and I am using a Microsoft account not a local.

• Click on Control Panel.
• Under view, select large icons.
• Go to User Account.
• Click on Manage another account.
• Select the User Account for which you want to select the password.
• Click on Change the username.
• Click on Change Name button.
