Vainly tried to find out more details about PIN-verification. How does it work?
Right now, I have to use a code sent to my secondary email address. As said, I don't know how it works, but would it be possible to change the verification method to PIN ? IF...IF ... that is easier, i.e. less fuss.

Note that my PC is -not- locked in any way: I have disabled that, which is being a different story.

Personal Vault (One Drive)

How can anyone else open the Personal Vault without the 2 step verification that only you can perform? To my knowledge you have to be signed in online to your Microsoft account before you can open the vault. It's bitlocker encrypted locally on your PC
even.

files in Personal Vault have an extra layer of security, keeping them more secured in the event that someone gains access to your account or your device. Yes, even if it's offline it will still need to authenticate.

 

One drive personal vault didn't finish setting up. I was not taken to a screen where I set a password.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community forums.

Your personal vault requires two step verification to access it. Once you have gone through the two step verification, you will have access to the files stored in there.

The two step verification options can be viewed and edited at
https://account.live.com where you need to sign into your Microsoft Account.

When looking at my vault, there is no way of setting a password as of yet. However, this may be something your able to suggest here:
