Windows 10: How to Change Welcome Screen Background in Windows 10

I've been trying to change what I thought was my lock screen and I even have it set as such:





However, when I turn my computer on, I always have this (or sometimes is the lake/mountains scene):





The roses picture shown on my lock screen settings is what I want on my welcome screen. I did see articles stating the difference between lock screen and welcome screen, and instructions on changing the welcome screen but they involve admin permissions on the default background pics and it is too confusing.

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things.

• Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
• Are you referring to desktop background image or lock screen image?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the background picture and check if it helps.

• In the search type as ‘Settings’ and click on it.
• Select ‘Personalization’, under ‘Background’ option select as ‘Picture’.
• Under ‘Choose your picture’ select any picture accordingly or you can browse the picture from your computer.

Login Screen Background Change

Windows 10 has an easy way to customize your login screen background. To get started follow these steps:

• On the Search bar, type Lock screen settings.

Lock screen background keep changing

I suggest you to follow the below steps to personalize the lock screen and check if it helps:

Change your lock screen background:

• Right click on Desktop, click on Personalization, and on
  Lock screen in the left pane.
• Here, under Background (click on the drop down arrow) you will see
  Windows spotlight, Picture, Slideshow.
• Select Windows Spotlight, lock the screen (Press Windows key + L) and check if it helps.
• Also, you can select Picture, Choose your picture, lock the screen and check if the issue persists.
