    How to check the integrity of a Recovery drive


    Hi Windows Community,


    I have created a USB recovery drive using "Recovery media creator" in Windows 10. Please clarify following queries.


    1 How do I verify the integrity of the recovery drive?


    2 I own multiple laptops from different brands with pre-built Windows 10 and pre-installed applications for example; HP laptops have pre-installed application namely HP diagnostics, HP Jump start, etc. Does Recovery drive contain the pre-installed application as well?


    3 Is it sufficient to have a single Recovery drive for all these Windows laptop from different brands/vendors?

    checking the integrity of bootable usb Windows 10 recovery drive

    Hi folks,

    I've just created a usb recovery drive using "recovery media creator", and it seems to have gone successfully. But before I delete the recovery partition on my hard disk, I want to check the integrity of the bootable recovery drive I have created. I thought
    that the best way to do this was to try booting from it. But when I go into advanced startup options and attempt to boot from it, it just keeps asking me what language of keyboard I want. How do I verify the integrity of this thing? I'd like to know that it
    will work in case of need.

    • Did you make any changes to your computer before this issue occurs?
    • Have you install Windows Update before getting the Recovery drive?
    • Which version of Windows are you using? To check it, follow the steps through this

    In the meantime, you can check the files inside the recovery drive and confirm if there are essential files that you need.
