Windows 10: How to clear the Windows font cache?

Hello. I have a question about how to delete the font cache in Windows.The operating systems are Windows 10 and 11.Can I proceed with the following method? Question 1 Do I just need to delete the cache in one of paths ② or ③? Question 2 Or, do I have to delete all the files in paths ② and ③? ① Find the Windows Font Cache service in the service list and click the ‘Stop’ button. ② Delete the contents of the C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\FontCache folder. ③ Go to C:\Windows\System32 and find FNTCACHE.DAT and delete it. ④ Restart the Windows Font Cache service. ⑤ R

Clear the 'cache' in file explorer for already used picture tags?


If you set some tags for your *.jpg pictures, the windows 10 file explorer shows them in the "details pane" on the right side.





This list can get very long and with some wrong or no longer used entries.
How can I clear this list / cache / suggestions?

Or how can I stop the file explorer to suggests already used Tags?

 

Problems with clearing cache with Microsoft Edge

I would suggest you to follow the below steps to clear the cache from Edge and check if the issue persist.

  Open Edge browser.

  On the top right corner click on the three dots

  Then below click on Settings

  Under clear browsing data
  
• 
  Tap or click on Choose what to clear
  
• 
  From the list check cached data
  and files, browsing history
  
• 
  And click on clear.
  

I would also suggest you to clear all temporary files from your computer and check if it helps:

• Press Windows+R key on the keyboard.
• Type %temp% and hit Enter.

Try the SFC scan to resolve the issue. SFC scans the corrupted files and recover it automatically.

To run the SFC/SCANNOW command in Windows 10:

• 
  Left click on Start button.

  Right click on Command Prompt (Admin) option which will let you run
  'Run as administrator’.
  
• 
  Command Prompt Window pops up.
  
• 
  Type: SFC /SCANNOW

Will disabling windows font cache service impact performance?

Im using NexusFonts and windows font cache service makes it painfully slow.
When i searched for solution for this, every solution i came across suggest to disable Windows Font Cache Service.

And it does solves the problem and while before nexus fonts takes about 2min to load my fonts, now it takes only few seconds.

But my main question is what actually happens when i disabled font cache service, will it impact system performance,
what happens to the fonts in new applications.
As windows is not caching fonts anymore will it conflicts with something,
how windows will handle fonts now on.
