  1. How to clone SSD C drive to larger SSD D drive, then run Windows from the bigger drive

We have a 512GB PCIe SSD as C drive running Windows 11 and a new empty 1TB SSD as D drive. We want to have the operating system be on the larger drive and become the system and boot drive - but we want the 1TB drive to become C drive after cloning. Then we will erase everything on the old 512 GB drive and make it drive D.Any idea how to do this.

    :)

  2. clone internal ssd C: drive to identical internal D:

I have a new desktop PC with 2 identical 500 GB SSD drives.
I would like to create a copy/clone? of the C: drive onto the 2nd (DHow to clone SSD C drive to larger SSD D drive, then run Windows from the bigger drive :) drive to that if C: fails I do not have reinstall everything.

    Is this possible?

If so can I use native Win 10 software to do this or do I need 3rd party software?

Will cloneing current SSD C: drive to larger capacity drive cause software (licensing) problems?

I currently have a Windows 10 PC with an SSD C: drive which is running low on space. (Note: second HD is standard drive containing D:, F:, and H: and I'm not planning to do anything on with it/them.) I'd like to purchase larger capacity SSD drive to replace just current the C: SSD.

If I install it as I: and clone the C: to it, then make it bootable with 'bcdboot':

    1. Do I make it the new C:? In the PC's BIOS or ?
    2. Will software realize this is a new drive (same PC) and cause problems with licensing? (Know you don't know all that I have on the drive but I'm mostly concerned with Microsoft Win10)

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

boot from cloned ssd installed on cd drive

    Hi Amar,

    1. I tried changing the boot order: booting from cd drive/bay first (where ssd is installed), but it is not booting from SSD and subsequently booting from HHD.

    2. It is booting from HHD/C drive and it is perfectly working fine, and I see my SSD as well as D drive.

My objective is to boot from SSD so that my laptop performance is better and leave my HHD as-is for storage use.

I don't want to reinstall OS and all my softwares again; I just want to clone the C drive to D drive and make the D drive as primary drive.

Please let me know if you need any more detail.

    Thanks
