Windows 10: How to config ClickOnce Trust Prompt Behavior

Hi, I'm an application developer on Windows and am having trouble with the ClickOnce Trust Prompt Behavior on some computers. My application needs to be given hard drive access to download some files, and every time the user installs it or opens it, their Windows shows a warning window. This has had a huge impact on my clients.Note: This only happens on some computers. I'm looking forward to a solution or explanation for the problem I'm having. Thank you.

It appears as though you're encountering issues with configuration of ClickOnce Trust Prompt Behavior.

We have recently rolled out a new update (Windows v1.2.622.1) that replaces an expired authenticode code signing certificate we use to sign our WorkDocs Sync Client for Windows Installer and associated application binaries.
This change looks to have triggered ClickOnce Trust Prompt Behavior on some customer Windows machines.

It is possible that this ClickOnce Trust Prompt Behavior configuration may have changed with an update to group policy if on a managed host, or the result of some other security related update/change.

This has been reported by some customers in the past and has been successfully remedied by making changes as detailed in the following documentation from Microsoft's MSDN site you can read here:

You will need to enable the ClickOnce Trust Prompt for Internet zone by having the value 'Enabled' or 'AuthenticodeRequired' set in order to have WorkDocs Sync Client for Windows be able to install/update.

Windows blocking app from running

This error is caused by ClickOnce Trust Prompt Behavior. ClickOnce trust prompt to control whether end users are given the option of installing ClickOnce applications, such as Windows Forms applications, Windows Presentation Foundation applications, console
applications, WPF browser applications, and Office solutions. You configure the trust prompt by setting registry keys on each end user's computer.

To better assist you with your concern, I'd like to know the following:

• Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
2. Click OK.

To adjust this settings, simply change the values in the Registry and you should be able to install the application:

1. Press Windows key + R, then type in regedit
and press Enter.

2. In the Registry window, navigate to the directory below:

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\.NETFramework\Security\TrustManager\PromptingLevel\Internet

3. Change the value of the Internet to Enabled.

Note: The method to fix the issue will have Registry modification. Before you modify the Registry, make sure to back it up and understand how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. Please refer to this link:

Some user had suggested that deleting the key TrustManager
also fixes the issue. In addition, I'd recommend checking this article
