Windows 10: How to configure freedns.afraid.org and DDNS?

Hi,

For setting up DDNS, I need to configure freedns.afraid.org.

I have gone through freedns.afraid.org/guide/dd-wrt/.

Also I signed up freedns.afraid.org.

While configuring freedns.afraid.org, it requires adding a domain and sub-domain.

In case of sub-domain, it requires Type, Sub domain, Domain, Destination & Wildcard.

Also an existing domain can be added into FreeDNS.

I got confused in whole processes.

Please guide me step by step configuration on both side; freedns.afraid.org and router.

On my router, I need details for Service, Service Port, Host Name, Domain, Username and Password

In Service, there are ten services and one of them is freedns.afraid.org.

Therefore, I believe I need to select freedns.afraid.org for Service.

Once I setup DDNS successfully, how do I know, I did set up successfully?

If I have own domain, is there any benefits for using own domain?

Please elaborate all related steps.

Yes, I agree - having the option to choose the type of connection (i.e. either voice or music) would be good. I have BT support in my Audi (Audi MMI 3G model), which is voice; and use a separate device hooked up to my AMI/Ipod connector for BT music streaming.

Whereas the voice connection (to the AUDI MMI) works - it automatically connects - the music connection is hit-and-miss. I've noticed that sometimes it connects to the music device, but is connecting as a "voice" connection, which means it then terminates
the connection to the Audi MMI.

When it connects correctly, everything is flawless - however, when it doesn't it gets quite frustrating, as multiple attempts to connect to the music BT connection sometimes causes the voice connection to drop.

If we had the option to designate which device is for which use (instead of the phone automatically trying to assign), then I think it would be stabler.

Looking forward to this in a future firmware update.....
