Windows 10: How to confirm if the drive is cleaned or not for an old laptop after reset?

Hi,I recently factory reset my old Windows 11 laptop and handed over to another person. I am not sure if I did "reset with option of do not clean the drive" or "reset with option of clean the drive".I have two questions:1. On my MS account online, the old laptop is still visible as one of the devices. Does that mean the drive was not cleaned when I reset my old laptop? Otherwise, is it common to show that way?2. Will apps like google chrome or edge get uninstalled and sign out of browser activity after factory resetting the old laptop?Note: I don't know if I chose "clean the drive" option whi

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

You are right, what I meant by a clean install is that I reset my PC from the 'recovery' section in settings that removed the previous installation along with all the applications installed on it.

I will try the steps that you have suggested.
