Windows 10: hOW TO CONNECT A SEAGATE DRIVE

I have a Seagate external hard drive I'm looking to back up my computer with it how do I hook it up

We appreciate the feedback, Pete. Getting in touch with Seagate support is one of your options. They may have recent or updated drivers for your external hard drive. In the meantime, since the hard drive is detected again when you unplug and replug it, we
suggest that you try changing the drive letter and its path and see if it addresses the issue. Follow the steps below:

• Right-click the Windows key and click Computer Management.
• Under Storage, click Disk Management.
• Find your Seagate External Hard Drive, right-click it and select
  Change Drive Letter and Paths.
• Click on Change and select the letter for the drive.
• Click OK, close all windows, then restart your computer.

Seagate backup drive not getting connected in Windows 10

It would be grateful if you can reply to these questions in order to assist you further:

• When you connect your Seagate hard drive, does it get detected in the system?
• If not, then have you tried connecting other external hard drive and check if its getting detected?
• Is your device getting connected but there is no K : drive letter assigned to it?
• Have you installed all pending Windows update?

First, connect the Seagate device using different port and check if the drive is getting detected. If not then try running Hardware and device troubleshooter to check if it helps.

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar and select it.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Hardware and device troubleshooter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.
