Windows 10: how to convert my volume license key to pre-installed license

Hello Helpers, Once my laptop got crashed, so i took my pc to the service center they installed the windows 10 enterprise version with volume license, on the time of getting my pc back from service center i don't know about windows enterpriseKMS server. but later i was found that using KMS server installed system is illegal to use as a home user. Now i want to downgrade my windows 10 enterprise to windows 10 home but i searched in google found that it was not possible to downgrade from windows 10 enterprise to windows 10 home. My question is that can i use my pre-installed windows 10

Volume Licensing / Divestment question

Hello,

We are currently going through an asset sale and have a question regarding transitioning when the third-party takes ownership.

The following are charactistics of our environment:

• We are a Microsoft volume licensing enterprise enviroment
• Deploy the volume license distribution of Microsoft desktop OS's and servers's OS
• Have centralized KMS Server and implement volume MAC keys (for special purposes)

What we know the third-party company is:

• Are a lot smaller company
• They do not have an Enterprise Agreement, no any volume licensing
• No KMS/MAC licenses
• They deploy OEM/Product licenses within their enviornment, they enter product keys per device deployment is my understanding

So we need to eventually remove these computers off our domain, and eventually off our network.

some of my concerns are:

• Would they need to reimage their Servers/Desktops to a FPP (Full Packaged Product) or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) distribution copy of the operating system?
• The goal is to keep some Servers/Desktops operational, but once removed from our Domain and network the KMS count down begins (I believe 180 days)
• Can a volume license install of an OS be converted/or have the ability to accept FPP/OEM product keys?

Convert/upgrade preinstalled Windows OEM to Volume License

Hello to all,
I have a general question.

Is possible to convert or upgrade preinstalled Windows OEM to Volume License?

I purchased my new laptop with Windows 10 Home. How can I upgrade PRO it with Volume License Key without reinstalling the system and programs? I have legal academic VLSC agreement and keys.

I have found this tutorial, but I want to ask you, if it is correct and official way:

You may NOT legally upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro using the volume licenses. The only organizations that may do this are academic and nonprofit. Commercial and government can only use volume license SKUs to upgrade from previous business class (Pro, enterprise, etc...) operating systems.

But how? When I do Change product key, system say that is not valid. I am sure that is valid.

I have filled my system configuration in my profile, if necessary.

Convert/upgrade preinstalled Windows OEM to Volume License

AFAIK it's not necessary to go changing registry entries to upgrade with a VL key.

I assume you have the standard Home edition (not single language etc)

Run ShowKeyPlus and check the activation count of your MAK





If all good, you can try upgrading with the default (generic) Pro key and activate with the MAK.
